On September 28, NEAR Secretary-General Kim Ok-chae delivered his congratulatory remarks via video at the Reception of the 72nd Anniversary of the Founding of the People’s Republic of China hosted by the Chinese Consulate General in Busan. In his speech, Mr. Kim expressed his gratitude to Consul General Guo Peng for his active coordination for NEAR activities. He also asked the Consulate General to play a greater role in exchange and cooperation in Northeast Asia.

In his greetings, Mr. Guo gave a presentation on the seventy-year history of the development of the People's Republic of China and relations between South Korea and China. He also stated that the Consulate General would continue to try hard to promote exchange and improve cooperation between regional governments of China and South Korea.

Meanwhile, over 80 officials, including heads of local governments of Busan, Daegu, Ulsan, and Gyeongsangbuk-do Province, attended the event, which was held online due to COVID-19. From the NEAR Secretariat, the expert on China Cho Sun-hwa and Chinese resident officer Cheng Anni participated.
