The 7th World Water Forum was held in Daegu Metropolitan City and Gyeongju,of Gyeongsangbuk-do Province from April 12 to 17 under the theme ‘Water for Our Future.’ The World Water Forum, the largest international water event, was founded by the World Water Council (WWC) in 1996 and held in Morocco in 1997 for the first time. It is held around World Water Day (March 22, every year) every three years. The forum consists of four processes; the Thematic Process, Regional Process, Political Process, and Science & Technology Process and 300 Citizen’s Forum. Also, Expo & Fair was held participated by 900 exhibition enterprises along with 200 official and unofficial events, including film and music festival. The NEAR Secretariat supported the World Water Forum with airport pick-up, arrangement of a meeting with a representative of China, interpreting service as the forum was held in Gyeongsangbuk-do Province where the NEAR Secretariat is located and many outstanding leaders of member regions participated in the forum.
