New Secretary General Jun Jae-won, a former Consul-General of Korean Consulate General in Xian, has been appointed since April 1 at the Secretariat of the Association of Northeast Asia Regional Governments. Secretary General Jun Jae-won was educated at Hankuk University of Foreign Studies and earned his M.A. and Ph.D. from National Chengchi University of Taipei and Peking University of China respectively. He joined the Ministry of Foreign Affairs(MOFA) in 1978 and served as a Second Secretary of Korean Embassy in the People’s Republic of China, First Secretary of Korean Consular Agency in Auckland, Deputy Consul-General of Korean Consulate General in Vancouver, and Consul of Korean Consulate General in Shanghai. Since August 2011, he had been working as Consul-General of Korean Consulate General in Xian Secretary General Jun is expected to contribute to promotion of NEAR’s development and exchange by drawing upon a variety of experiences and professionalism acquired from diplomat experience.
