On April 26, Secretary-General Jun visited Anhui Province, China and extended an invitation to join NEAR. He also met Director-General Wangxin of Anhui Provincial Foreign Affairs Office and introduced NEAR and the main projects undertaken by the organization. He added that by joining NEAR, Anhui Province would play a significant role in promoting regional exchange and cooperation. Director-General Wangxin responded that Anhui Province would try its best to actively participate in various events such as the General Assembly, as well as joining NEAR, an ideal platform for the cooperation with other regional governments of countries nearby within the Northeast Asia
