The Delegation headed by Vice Chairperson Li Shufen of Ningxia CPPCC (the Chinese People’s Political Consultative Conference) visited the NEAR Secretariat on Friday, April 22 2016. NEAR Secretary-General Jun welcomed the delegate, expressing his gratitude for the active participation and genuine support of the Ningxia Hui Autonomous Region since becoming a member in 2000. Vice Chairperson Li has responded by saying that Ningxia had benefitted from the international exchanges taking place in Northeast Asia through the NEAR network. She added that every effort would be made in order to attend the general assembly and international forum, and that Ningxia would like to promote local products such as Goji berries and wine, and expand its market. Ningxia became a member of NEAR at the 3rd General Assembly in 2000 and was appointed as the 9th NEAR Chair region. As an active member of NEAR, Ningxia successfully held the 9th General Assembly in 2012.
