The appointment ceremony of Guan Cha from Jilin Province, China was held on May 26 at the NEAR Secretariat office. Mr. Guan Cha will be in charge of opinion coordination and liaison among the member regions for a period of one year. It is expected that Mr. Cha will be able to contribute actively to the secretariat owing to his knowledge of Korean culture and language obtained during his previous experience living in Korea as a student. During the ceremony, Secretary-General Jun stated that "Due to the many events and projects related to China, it is expected that Mr. Cha will play an important role in connecting each regional government in China with the NEAR Secretariat.”
