On November 23, Secretary-General LIM Byung-jin delivered a special lecture on "In the Era of Transformation, Local Government Cooperation in Northeast Asia" to more than 100 students at the College of Global Leaders of Yeungnam University.

Mr. Lim explained the recent global and Northeast Asian political landscapes and the characteristics of the Northeast Asian region, where there is no unified organization among countries, and there are disputes and conflicts over issues such as ideology, history, and territory. He also said that NEAR is a region where exchange and cooperation between local governments and the private sector is very much needed due to the regional geopolitical features.

After emphasizing that NEAR is the center of cooperation among local governments in Northeast Asia, he introduced the current status of NEAR and the Secretariat in detail.

At the luncheon meeting with CHOI Oe-chool, the President of Yeungnam University before the lecture, they exchanged opinions on cooperation between NEAR and Yeungnam University, including training for officials of NEAR member regions and exchanges between universities in the Northeast Asian region.
