NEAR Secretariat appointed Seok Ji-young as the new expert on English on August 3. She received a letter of appointment from Secretary General Kim Ok-chae, and started working at the Secretariat.
After majoring in English translation and interpretation at graduate school, Ms. Seok built up her translation and interpretation experience at a large company. She is in charge of promoting cooperative projects with other international organizations and associate member regions, as well as translation and interpretation for English-speaking countries as the expert on English in the Department of Planning and Public Relations of the NEAR Secretariat.
Seok Ji-young stated that she would adjust to her new position swiftly and contribute to the development of the NEAR Secretariat.
