NEAR Secretary-General Attends the “Korea-Russia Friendship Night” Hosted by the Russian Embassy to South Korea

On December 3, Secretary-General Lim Byung-jin attended the reception of the “Korea-Russia Friendship Night,” which was held in the Grand Hall of the Russian Embassy to South Korea, at the invitation of the Russian Embassy.



Mr. Lim conveyed his congratulations to Russian Ambassador Georgy Zinoviev and expressed gratitude for the ambassador’s consistent interest and support for NEAR. He also requested continued support from the Russian Embassy.


Additionally, Mr. Lim met with several distinguished attendees at the reception, including Son Kyung-sik, Chairman of CJ Corporation; Jeong Dong-young, member of the National Assembly; Lee Seok-bae, former Korean Ambassador to Russia; Andrei Chernetski, Belarusian Ambassador to South Korea; and Alexey Sapetko, official from the Trade Representation of the Russian Federation in the Republic of Korea. During these meetings, Mr. Lim shared updates on NEAR’s recent activities, including the Secretariat’s participation in the Eastern Economic Forum in Russia, cooperation with Northeast Asian member governments including Russia, and efforts to expand exchanges with NEAR associate member regions including Central Asia. He requested their interest in and support for NEAR.


  

Ambassador Georgy Zinoviev emphasized in his welcome speech that “Despite today’s unpredictable external situations, cooperation between Russia and Korea must continue through human relationships.”
