On December 2, Secretary-General Lim Byung-jin visited the Governors Association of Korea in Seoul and had a meeting with Ha Tae-yeok, director of the International Relations Support Office.
During the meeting, Mr. Lim shared NEAR’s recent activities and major projects planned for the coming year. In particular, he requested Mr. Ha’s support for the NEAR Member Training Program to be held next year. During the 10-day training program, 15 officials from China, Japan, Mongolia, and Russia will have the opportunity to receive OJT program for 2 or 3 days at available locations across the 17 cities and provinces.

In response, Mr. Ha introduced the K2H program, a training program that invites local government officials from overseas. Highly praising NEAR’s significant role, Mr. Ha expressed his strong commitment to actively support the NEAR Member Training Program next year, ensuring that participants will have the opportunity to engage in OJT program in one of Korea’s 17 cities and provinces.
The Governors Association of Korea was established to promote mutual understanding, exchange, and cooperation among cities and provinces. Its purpose is to address common issues and challenges, strengthen local autonomy and decentralization, achieve balanced regional development, and enhance local diplomacy, ultimately working for the sustainability of local governments.
