On November 19, the NEAR Secretariat attended the 2024 Bomun 50^th Anniversary Tourism Seminar, hosted by the Gyeongsangbuk-do Culture & Tourism Organization and the Tourism Sciences Society of Korea. The event took place at the Commodore Hotel within the Bomun Tourist Complex in Gyeongju City.

This seminar was attended by over 100 participants, including tourism officials from Gyeongsangbuk-do Province and its 22 cities and counties, representatives from tourism-related institutions, and local universities. The event began with an opening address by Kim Nam-il, President of the Gyeongbuk Culture and Tourism Organization, followed by congratulatory remarks from Joo Nak-young, Mayor of Gyeongju, and Ko Gye-seong, President of the Korea Tourism Association. The seminar featured expert presentations and discussions under the theme of "The Vision and Preparation for the Next 50 Years of the Bomun Tourist Complex and the Future of Korea’s Tourism."

The NEAR Secretariat outlined its plan to host the 3th NEAR Subcommittee on Tourism in September 2025 in Ningxia Hui Autonomous Region, China, and encouraged active participation from Korea’s tourism-related organizations in the subcommittee event.
