NEAR Secretary-General Meets with the Deputy Prime Minister of the Republic of Sakha

On October 22, Secretary-General Lim Byung-jin met with the delegation from the Republic of Sakha, led by Deputy Prime Minister Borisov Kim, at the NEAR Subcommittee on Innovation Plus held in Zhangjiajie, Hunan Province, China.


Mr. Lim expressed his gratitude to the Sakha Republic for its contributions to NEAR’s development over the past years, serving as the 13th NEAR Chair (from 2018 to 2021), coordinating the Subcommittee on Sports, and actively participating in various NEAR events this year.


           

Deputy Prime Minister Borisov Kim acknowledged NEAR’s significant role in today’s geopolitical landscape in Northeast Asia and affirmed his commitment to continued participation in NEAR’s various activities. 


Additionally, he requested support from the NEAR Secretariat for hosting the NEAR Subcommittee on Sports, scheduled to take place in the Sakha Republic next year both online and offline. Mr. Lim pledged his full support for the event.

  

     

Alongside Deputy Prime Minister Borisov Kim, the meeting included Kirillin Gavril, Minister for External Relations and Peoples’ Affairs of the Sakha Republic.
