On September 25, NEAR Secretary-General Lim Byung-jin had a luncheon meeting with Governor Chimed Chuluun of Uvs Province and Deputy Governor Mendbayar Khuyagbaatar of Khuvsgul Province at the 14th NEAR High-Level Working Committee, which was held in Shenyang City, Liaoning Province, China.
Mr. Lim expressed his deep gratitude to the two Mongolian dignitaries for taking part in the committee despite their busy schedule for the upcoming local election in Mongolia. Mr. Lim stated that the NEAR Secretariat puts a high value on the cooperation with Mongolian member governments, and conveyed the news that 9 Mongolian government officials participated in the recent NEAR Member Training Program and 2 of them were recommended by the Secretariat for the admission to the Park Chung Hee School of Policy and Saemul at Yeungnam University. Then he requested for active participation in NEAR events.

Governor Chimed congratulated on the opening of the 14th NEAR High-Level Working Committee and expressed his pleasure to meet Mr. Lim again after their last encounter at the NEAR General Assembly in Ulsan last year. Then he provided information on the recent efforts that Uvs Province has made to cooperate with Incheon City in education sector.

Deputy Governor Khuyagbaatar stated that the committee’s great significance motivated him to come to Shenyang despite his busy schedule for the local election. Upon returning to Mongolia, Mr. Khuyagbaatar will immediately begin his campaign as a candidate for the Khuvsgul Provincial Council.
