On August 7, NEAR Secretary-General Lim Byung-jin attended the "2024 China Gansu Province Economic, Trade, Cultural, Tourism, and Agricultural Cooperation Promotion Conference" hosted by Gansu Province at the Ambassador Pullman Hotel in Seoul and delivered a congratulatory address.
The opening ceremony, moderated by Director-General Zhang Baojun of the Gansu Foreign Affairs Office, featured congratulatory addresses by Shi Moujun, Deputy Secretary of the Gansu Provincial Party Committee; Fang Kun, Acting Ambassador of China to Korea; Kim Joon-hyung, Member of the National Assembly of Korea; Lim Byung-jin, NEAR Secretary-General; Kim Chun-jin, President of the Korea Agro-Fisheries & Food Trade Corporation; and Lee Ji-hyung, Head of the Economic and Trade Cooperation Division at KOTRA.
In his congratulatory address, Secretary-General Lim emphasized, "Today’s conference will serve as a platform for exchange connecting Gansu Province and Korea. It will not only foster practical cooperation between Gansu and Korea but also play a positive role in enhancing friendly cooperation between Korea and China."
The conference was hosted by the Gansu Provincial Department of Agriculture and Rural Affairs, the Gansu Provincial Department of Commerce, the Gansu Provincial Department of Culture and Tourism, and the Gansu Provincial People’s Government Foreign Affairs Office, in cooperation with the Korea-China Cultural Friendship Association. It aims to introduce Gansu Province’s investment and trade environment to major Korean institutions and business leaders and to promote opportunities for cooperation in various fields, including economic and trade, cultural tourism, and agriculture. Over 160 representatives from major institutions, businesses, and organizations in Gansu and Korea attended the event.
Following the conference, the "Korea-China Business & Institution MOU Signing Ceremony" was held, where representatives from 48 enterprises in Gansu, including New Silk Road Industrial Investment Co., Ltd. and Gansu Culture and Tourism Business Group, signed MOUs with Korean businesses and institutions in the fields of economy, cultural tourism, and agriculture.
