On July 10, the two experts on Japan at the NEAR Secretariat delivered a lecture to nearly 40 students at Pohang High School, introducing them to Japanese culture and university life.
The lecture covered general information about Japan, NEAR member-regions in Japan, the university attendance system and student life, and experiencing traditional Japanese toys.
After the lecture, the students said, “It was a fruitful time to learn about various aspects of Japanese culture, such as the university attendance system and student life,” and expressed their anticipation for the upcoming cultural lectures on Mongolia and China.
This was the second cultural lecture for the students of Pohang High School, following the first one on Russia in May. Two more cultural lectures on Mongolia and China are scheduled for later this year. The NEAR Secretariat aims to provide this cultural lecture program to other more local communities within Gyeongsangbuk-do Province, including Gyeongju, Gumi, and Andong.
