PARK Heong Joon, mayor of Busan Metropolitan City, met with WATANABE Kuniko, head of the members’ union of the Kyoto Prefectural Assembly for the friendly relationship between Korea and Japan, at Busan Metropolitan City Hall on April 15. There, they discussed ways of mutual exchange and cooperation between Busan City and Kyoto Prefecture.

The discussion also covered cooperative initiatives to vitalize tourism between the two regional governments.

Having established its sisterhood with the city of Shimonoseki in 1976, Busan City has expanded its sister city partnership with other Japanese cities including Fukuoka, Osaka, and Nagasaki.
