Secretary-General LIM Byung-jin attended the 1^st Local Diplomay Forum 2023 held at the Seoul Korea Press Center, under the theme of “Global Brand Strategy in the Era of Local Diplomacy.” This forum was organized for the first time to raise awareness of the importance of local diplomacy, bringing together academia, local governments, and others.

During the forum, Mr. Lim participated as a panelist in the session titled “Session 1: Strategies and Institutionalization of Local Diplomacy,” where he introduced the activities and characteristics of NEAR, which has put its best efforts into multilateral local diplomacy in Northeast Asia over the past 27 years, as well as the role in multilateral exchange among local governments.

Mr. Lim also greeted LEE Cheol-woo, chairman of Governors Association of Korea and governor of Gyeongsangbuk-do Province, OH Se-hoon, mayor of Seoul, WOO Dong-gi, chairman of the Presidential Committee for the Balanced National Development, JO Jae-gu, chairman of the National Association of Mayors in Korea, Carlos Victor BOUNGOU, head of Diplomatic Corps in Korea (Ambassador of Gabon to Korea), and YOO Min-bong, Secretary-General of Governors Association of Korea, during the opening ceremony of the forum.
