NEAR Secretary-General LIM Byung-jin paid a courtesy visit to PARK Heong-joon, the mayor of Busan Metropolitan City on Wednesday, March 22. Mr. Lim offered his inaugural greetings to Mr. Park and requested the attention and participation of Korean members, including Busan, in NEAR activities. In addition, he asked Mr. Park to pay special attention to the 14^th NEAR General Assembly scheduled to be held in Ulsan Metropolitan City this October, as well as other major international events, such as the Working-level Workshop and Young Leaders' Forum. Moreover, Mr. Lim wished Busan success in its bid to host the 2030 World Expo, currently being actively promoted by Busan Metropolitan City. 

In response, Mr. Park congratulated Mr. Lim on his inauguration as the NEAR Secretary-General and welcomed his visit to the Busan City Hall. He also gave his assurances with regards to his participation in the General Assembly save any unforeseen extraordinary circumstances and would pay special attention to upcoming NEAR international events.
