NEAR Secretary-General Jun Jae-won participated in the 2016 Silk Road International Expo and Investment & Trade Forum for Cooperation between East & West China in Xian, China. At the opening ceremony, Secretary-General Jun visited the main event hall, and stated that “This expo is a great platform for mutual exchange and trade since countries in the surrounding regions of the Silk Road are attending. It is necessary for NEAR to consider various practical ways for promoting exchange and cooperation in the region.” Korea and Kazakhstan were selected as Guests of Honor, and many government and business delegations, including the Minister of Trade, Industry and Energy of Korea and other business also attended the Expo.
