The NEAR Secretariat Appoints New Chinese Liaison Officer, Ms. Tao Jingrong

On 15 May, the NEAR Secretariat appointed Ms. Tao Jingrong who Qsinghai Province had recommended, as the new Chinese Liaison Officer. She received a letter of appointment from Secretary-General on 19 May.                         


Working at the Foreign Affairs Office of Qinghai Province, she has performed policy research in the field of foreign affairs, gaining various experience in international cooperation. Having completed a language training program at the Korean Language Institute of Chungbuk National University, she has a strong understanding of Korea.


As a Chinese liaison officer at the Department of International Cooperation, Ms. Tao Jingrong will be in charge of liaison with the Chinese NEAR member governments and support in holding events. In light of her expertise in foreign affairs and proficiency in Korean, she is expected to successfully carry out her duty as a liaison officer at the NEAR Secretariat.


Meanwhile, the NEAR Secretariat reorganized its regulation to enhance employee motivation and support career development for the experts. Under the new regulation, expert officers who have worked for more than 10 years are designated as “Principal Expert Officer” and those who have worked for more than 5 years and less than 10 years as “Senior Expert Officer”


As the first appointments under the reorganized system, Ms. Lkham Khishigjargal, Expert Officer on Mongolia of Department of International Cooperation and Ms. Kim You-jin, Expert Officer of Department of Planning and Public Relations were appointed as Principal Expert Officer. And Mr. Do Eon-seok and Ms. Kim Su-hyun of  Department of Planning and Public Relations were appointed as Senior Expert Officer.
