[Toyama, Japan] Vice Governor Changes

○ In Toyama Prefecture, a Japanese member government, a personnel reshuffle for the Vice Governor recently took place 


○ Ms. Kazue Sato(佐藤 一), who served as Vice Governor for the past two years, has stepped down from the position. Ms. Keiko Nishi(西 ) has been appointed as new Vice Governor. 


○ New Vice Governor Nishi joined Japan’s Ministry of Agriculture, Forestry and Fisheries (MAFF) in 1994 and has since held a number of key positions within both the Cabinet Secretariat and MAFF. Throughout her career, she has been responsible for areas including food culture, international policy, livestock administration, and regional revitalization initiatives. After serving as Deputy Director-General of the Minister’s Secretariat of MAFF (Technology and Environment) in 2024, she assumed the post of Vice Governor of Toyama Prefecture in April 2026.
