The Secretariat of the Association of North East Asia Regional Governments (NEAR) sent official invitation letters to member governments and associate member governments regarding the Gansu International Fellowship program at the request of Gansu Province. The Secretariat supported participant recruitment and application procedures, ultimately recommending six government officials from five countries including one director-level and one deputy director-level official.
The recommended officials from member and associate member governments such as Mongolia (Sukhbaatar Province, Khentii Province), Russia (the Republic of Buryatia), Kazakhstan (East Kazakhstan Region), Myanmar (Mandalay Region), U zbekistan (the Republic of Karakalpakstan) showed strong interest in the fellowship program.
The program is organized by the Gansu Province and hosted by the Foreign Affairs Office to deal with topics such as China’s development status, regional policies, and cultural understanding with regional governments officials from abroad. It is expected to contribute to strengthening participants’ professional competencies and expanding mutual exchange.
The NEAR Secretariat plans to continue to serve as a bridge for promoting exchanges and expanding international cooperation among member governments, while continuously supporting participation in various fellowship programs and exchange programs hosted by member governments including Gansu Province.
