Tianjin City

Tianjin, which means “gateway to heaven,” was named during the Ming Dynasty under the reign of Emperor Wing Loh.
During the Sui Dyansty, after the completion of the Beijing-Hangzhou Grand Canal, Tianjin port became an important transportation hub for various goods, including food, to the southern regions.
It was once the capital of Hubei Province, but is now under the direct administration of the central government.
