The NEAR Secretariat held a preparatory meeting for the 12th NEAR General Assembly, scheduled to be held in Hunan Province in mid-September, at the NEAR Secretariat located in Pohang, Gyeongsangbuk-do Province, on Monday, May 14, 2018,

Six delegates headed by Qui Aihua, Deputy Director-General of Foreign Affairs office of Hunan Provincial People’s Government, met with Secretary-General Hong Jong-kyoung. Following the meeting, the delegation attended a dinner hosted by Deputy Secretary-General Park Changsoo.
