On Thursday, May 29, NEAR Secretary-General Lim Byung-jin attended the opening ceremony of the 2025 Zhengzhou Cross-border E-commerce Competition held at the Zhengzhou International Convention Center in Henan Province and delivered a congratulatory address.
Vice Governor Zhang Min hosted the opening ceremony, which featured congratulatory speeches by Governor Wang Kai, Lung Yongtu, Chairman of the China and Global Enterprises Alliance, Shi Zhongjun, Secretary-General of the China-ASEAN Center, Lim Byung-jin, Secretary-General of NEAR, and Li Weizheng, Deputy Director of the Market System Development Division of the Ministry of Commerce. The event concluded with a proclamation ceremony led by Party Secretary Liu Ning.
In his congratulatory remarks, Secretary-General Lim stated, “As a founding member of NEAR, Henan Province has consistently participated actively in NEAR's initiatives and, more recently, has made significant contributions to the organization's development by serving as the coordinator for both the Tourism Subcommittee and the E-commerce Subcommittee.”
Secretary-General Lim added, “I request that cooperation with NEAR will be further strengthened through next year’s E-commerce and Tourism Subcommittee meetings, to be hosted by Henan Province. I also want to emphasize that cross-border e-commerce is a new trade engine in the digital economy era, and I look forward to this event serving as a springboard for the further advancement of Henan’s e-commerce industry.”
On Wednesday, May 28, Secretary-General Lim also attended a welcome dinner hosted by An Wei, Party Secretary of Zhengzhou, whereat the dinner, he met with Lung Yongtu, Chairman of the China and Global Enterprises Alliance; Zhang Dawei, Secretary-General of the China Center for International Economic Exchanges; Wang Zhenli, Director of the Henan Provincial Department of Commerce; and Jiang Ming, Chairman of the China General Chamber of Commerce. He introduced NEAR and the activities of its Chinese member governments and called for their continued interest and support.
The Zhengzhou Cross-border E-commerce Competition was hosted by the Henan Provincial Department of Commerce and organized by the Zhengzhou Comprehensive Pilot Zone for Cross-border E-commerce. The three-day event, held under the theme “Global purchasing and Global Selling,” concluded successfully with the participation of more than 150 companies from Henan and over 300 foreign enterprises, featuring a total of more than 500 exhibition booths.
