On September 11, during the 2025 NEAR Subcommittee on Tourism held in Zhongwei, Ningxia Hui Autonomous Region, NEAR Secretary-General Lim Byung-jin met with the deputy governors of Bayankhongor, Dundgovi, and Khövsgöl Aimags of Mongolia to exchange views on prospects for future cooperation.
Secretary-General Lim expressed his sincere appreciation for their participation in the Subcommittee and briefed them on recent NEAR activities, while engaging in discussions on matters of mutual interest.
The Mongolian deputy governors conveyed their gratitude for the invitation to the Tourism Subcommittee and offered a positive evaluation of the NEAR Secretariat’s contribution to multilateral exchanges among local governments in Northeast Asia.
Notably, the Deputy Governor of Khövsgöl Aimag indicated that the province is considering hosting the Tourism Subcommittee in Khuvsgul in 2027, and formally requested that NEAR Secretariat visit the region next year for on-site inspection and consultation.
