NEAR Secretary-General Lim Byung-jin, Secretary-General of the Association of North East Asia Regional Governments (NEAR), held separate meetings on Tuesday, April 29, in Ankang City, Shaanxi Province, with attendees of the 2nd NEAR Subcommittee on Traditional Medicine, including Saingtsog Jijikheng, Vice Governor of Selenge Aimag, Mongolia; Yevgeniya Rudupova, Deputy Prime Minister of the Republic of Buryatia, Russia; and Baidauvaliyev Askhan, Director of the Health Bureau of Turkestan Region, Kazakhstan, to exchange views on mutual cooperation.
Secretary-General Lim expressed his gratitude to Vice Governor Saingtsog, noting that this meeting marked their sixth encounter and thanked her for her active participation in NEAR activities.

In his meeting with Deputy Prime Minister of the Republic of Buryatia, Deputy Prime Minister Rudupova, Secretary-General Lim requested Buryatia’s leadership and cooperation with the NEAR Secretariat, as Buryatia is expected to assume the chair government role next. In response, Deputy Prime Minister Rudupova expressed high levels of satisfaction with the subcommittee meeting and stated that she would coordinate closely with the Shaanxi provincial government and the NEAR Secretariat to host the NEAR Subcommittee on Traditional Medicine alongside the NEAR Senior Officials Committee next year.
In addition, Secretary-General Lim met with Director Baidauvaliyev Askhan and extended an invitation to the Governor of Turkestan to the upcoming “15th NEAR General Assembly” to be held in Liaoning Province this June, during which Turkestan Region is scheduled to officially join NEAR as an associate member. Secretary-General Lim also requested Turkestan’s active participation in NEAR’s various initiatives.

In response, Director Baidauvaliyev expressed his satisfaction with the subcommittee meeting and pledged active support for NEAR activities.
