On Thursday, May 29, NEAR Secretary-General Lim Byung-jin held a private meeting with Liang Jieyi, Director-General of the Foreign Affairs Office of Henan Province, on the sidelines of the 2025 Zengzhou International E-commerce Conference. During the meeting, they discussed ways to enhance mutual cooperation.
During the luncheon meeting, Secretary-General Lim praised Henan Province for its significant contributions as the coordinator of NEAR's E-commerce and Tourism Subcommittees, highlighting its role in promoting practical exchanges and cooperation among local governments. He added that the NEAR Secretariat would actively support the successful hosting of the E-commerce and Tourism Subcommittee meetings scheduled for next year in Henan.
Director-General Liang positively evaluated NEAR’s role in facilitating local cooperation in Northeast Asia and stated that Henan, as a founding member, places great importance on its partnership with NEAR and the NEAR platform. He expressed hope for closer collaboration with the NEAR Secretariat and member governments through the operation of the upcoming E-commerce and Tourism Subcommittees.
