On February 6, the NEAR Secretariat provided interpretation support for Gyeongsangbuk-do Vice Governor for Economic Affairs Yang Geum-hee’s visit to the Consulate General of Russia in Busan. The visit was aimed at requesting the support from the Consulate General for the successful hosting of the APEC Summit in Gyeongju.
During the meeting, Ms. Yang requested the support and cooperation from the Consul General Dudnik in Gyeongsangbuk-do’s efforts to host the most peaceful and successful APEC Summit ever in history, which will bring together the leaders of the United States, China, and Russia.
In response, Ms. Dudnik expressed her commitment to actively supporting the the APEC Summit by working closely with the NEAR Secretariat.
Gyeongsangbuk-do is now engaging with the diplomatic corps of APEC member countries in South Korea to provide updates on the preparations for the APEC Summit and gather opinions on areas of mutual cooperation.
Following meetings with the Chinese and U.S. ambassadors to South Korea, Gyeongsangbuk-do plans to visit the Consulates General of Japan and Russia in Busan, as well as the embassies of ASEAN and Latin American APEC member countries. These visits aim to promote the APEC Summit and continue discussions on mutual cooperation.
