The Delegation of Hubei Province, headed by Chairman Wang Shengtie of Chinese People’s Political Consultative Conference, visited the NEAR Secretariat on June 19, 2006. This visit was made to introduce the Hubei Province to NEAR, increase the understanding of NEAR, and discuss the process of the membership application.
Hubei Province applied for the NEAR membership to the Secretariat in January, this year. The Province is expected to become an official member of NEAR through the ratification of the 6th NEAR General Assembly in September, 2006.
