Kanat Kaifbek, Deputy Governor of Kazakhstan’s Turkistan Region, recently sent a letter of appreciation to NEAR Secretary-General regarding the 「NEAR Member Government Officials Training Program」
In his letter, Deputy Governor Kaifbek expressed his appreciation to NEAR Secretary-General and the Secretariat for organizing the training program to a high standard. He particularly noted that the opportunity to gain firsthand insight into Korea’s experience in modernizing rural areas had been highly valuable and beneficial.
He also noted that the knowledge gained and the examples of effective community participation acquired through the training would be highly useful in implementing relevant policies and carrying out future work. He further expressed his appreciation for the opportunity to engage in professional exchanges and build networks with regional government officials from various countries.
Meanwhile, the NEAR Government Officials Training Program, jointly organized by the NEAR Secretariat and Yeungnam University in Gyeongsan from June 23 to July 3, was attended by 16 officials from NEAR member and associate member governments, including five from China, eight from Mongolia, one from Russia, and two from Kazakhstan. From Turkistan Region, two officials participated: Sultankhan Yerik, Head of the Public Asset Management Division of the Department of Finance and State Asset Management, and Serikbayev Nursatay, Specialist of the Department of Economy and Budget Planning.
