NEAR Secretary General Lim Byung-jin attended the 「27th Qinghai China Investment and Trade Fair for Green Development」(hereinafter referred to as the Qinghai Fair (Qingqiahui, 青洽会)), a national-level exposition held in Qinghai Province, China, from July 14(Tue) to 16(Thu).

On July 14, Secretary General Lim attended a reception for foreign delegations hosted by Wu Xiaojun (吴晓军), Party Secretary of Qinghai Province, as well as a welcome banquet hosted by Wang Haihong (王海红), Vice Governor of Qinghai Province. He also visited the trade exhibition at the Qinghai International Convention and Exhibition Center, touring the pavilions of Chile, the Guest Country of Honor, and Shandong Province and Fujian Province, the Co-Guest Provinces of Honor, as well as the exhibition halls of Qinghai Province and Shanghai Municipality to learn about their regional specialty products and cultures.

On July 15, Secretary General Lim attended the opening ceremony held at the Qinghai Wanda Vista Hotel. At the ceremony, welcoming remarks were delivered by Wu Xiaojun, Party Secretary of Qinghai Province. Congratulatory speeches followed from Alfonso Silva, Ambassador of Chile to China; Tamás Hajba, OECD Representative to China and Senior Advisor; Wang Jinfu (王金福), Vice Governor of Fujian Province; and Zhang Xinwen (张新文), Vice Chairman of the Shandong Provincial Committee of the Chinese People's Political Consultative Conference (CPPCC). The opening address was delivered by Yang Zhen (杨震), Vice Chairman of the National Committee of the CPPCC, while Luo Dongchuan (罗东川), Governor of Qinghai Province, served as the master of ceremonies.

At the opening ceremony, Fujian Province and Shandong Province participated as Co-Guest Provinces of Honor, while Chile was the Guest Country of Honor. The event was attended by diplomatic representatives stationed in China, officials from international organizations, experts, and business leaders. Three exhibition halls focusing on green development, cooperation and exchanges, and regional development were operated, alongside 17 featured events.

During the fair, Secretary General Lim met with key Chinese officials, including Party Secretary Wu Xiaojun; Luo Dongchuan, Governor of Qinghai Province; Vice Governor Wang Haihong; Wang Jinfu, Vice Governor of Fujian Province; and Sun Lijun (孙立军), Vice Chief Secretary of the Qinghai Provincial Government. He also engaged with high-level representatives from relevant organizations and regional governments, including Alfonso Silva, Ambassador of Chile to China; Tamás Hajba, OECD Representative to China and Senior Advisor for China; and Baktynur Baktynur, Deputy Governor of Almaty Region, Kazakhstan to introduce NEAR.

Meanwhile, Secretary General Lim met with officials from the Qinghai Provincial Foreign Affairs Office, including Zhou Huaxin (周华新) and Zhang Yanyu (张彦宇), both Deputy Directors-General, and invited Qinghai Province to participate in the 「NEAR International Forum」, which is scheduled to be held in November.
