
Lu Dongliang, former Vice Governor of Shanxi Province, has officially assumed office as Governor.
Governor Lu, a native of Kangping in Liaoning Province, earned a bachelor's degree in economics from North China University of Technology and joined the Communist Party of China in 1993. He built his career at Aluminum Corporation of China (Chinalco), gaining extensive experience in corporate management. In 2019, he served as Party Secretary and Chairman of Chinalco. In May 2020, he entered public office as Vice Governor of Shanxi Province, later serving as Party Secretary of Datong City and Executive Vice Governor of Shanxi Province. He was appointed Acting Governor in June 2025 and has now officially taken office.
With his rich experience in both state-owned enterprises and local government, Governor Lu is expected to play a key role in driving Shanxi’s industrial transformation and addressing long-standing structural challenges.
