On Tuesday afternoon, May 13, Ms. Yoo Tae-ran, Director of the Investment Promotion Division of Gumi City, Gyeongsangbuk-do, along with her delegation, visited the NEAR Secretariat to request cooperation in organizing an exhibition of outstanding works from the Northeast Asia Youth Drawing Contest during the 2025 Gumi Asian Athletics Championships.
Mr. Lim Byeong-jin, Secretary-General of the Association of North East Asia Regional Governments (NEAR), expressed full support for the exhibition of the selected youth artworks. He also introduced NEAR’s major initiatives for the year and recent developments within the organization. Both parties shared views on ways to expand international cooperation through NEAR, particularly given that Gumi City is a member of Gyeongsangbuk-do Province.
Meanwhile, the 2025 Gumi Asian Athletics Championships will be held over five days from May 27 to 31 at Gumi Citizens' Stadium. As a side event, 30 selected works from the Northeast Asia Youth Drawing Contest, hosted by the NEAR Secretariat, will be exhibited at the Park Chung-hee Gymnasium in Gumi.
