The NEAR Secretariat Workshop was held from December 7(Thur.) to 8(Fri.) in Busan, the hub of logistics in Northeast Asia.

At the workshop, staff meetings were held over three sessions to discuss the development of NEAR and activity plans for 2018. In particular, secretariat staff shared opinions to seek out ways to increase active participation of NEAR members.

The Secretariat also listened to a lecture by Professor Cho Sang-hyun of the Department of Distribution and Logistics from Dong-eui University, titled ’Road and Belt Initiative and New Northern Policy’ and took part in the Q&A session.

In addition, the Secretariat visited the Provincial Capital Memorial Hall which was used as a government building during the Korean War, but now serves as an educational center for modern Korean history. Furthermore, the Secretariat visited locations along the coast of Busan, including Yeongdo Bridge, a famous tourist spot.
