Nine NEAR Secretariat staff members, including the Secretary-General, participated in the Economic Cooperation Forum of CEOs in Northeast Asia 2017 which was held in POSCO International Center located in Pohang City, Gyeongsangbuk-do Province, on July 29 (Sat.) 2017 under the theme of “Cooperation and Development Plan among the Major Cities in the Pan East-Sea Era.” 15 cities from seven countries including NEAR member nations such as China, Russia, Japan, and Mongolia attended the forum.
The former Minister of Unification Lee Jong-seok delivered the opening speech titled ‘Peace in Northeast Asia and Formation of Northern Economic Zone,’ and Park Won-soon the Mayor of Seoul also attended the forum.
Representatives of the municipal governments of the NEAR member regions such as Sergei Ovchinnikov, the head of the Khasan municipal district, Russia delivered a presentation at the form.
