The NEAR Secretariat visited the Korean Association for Local Government Studies and attended the Winter Academic Conference at Bumin Campus, Dong-A University in Busan, on February 16.
At the conference, 15 sessions and 45 Articles were presented under the theme of ‘Social Integration and the role of regional government in the Era of Multi-Culture’. Furthermore, a presentation on exemplary policy practices by regional governments such as Bucheon City, Gyeonggido Province, Bupyeong-gu, Incheon Metropolitan City, Chilgok-gun, Gyeongsagnbuk-do Province was given. This was followed by an award ceremony.

From NEAR Secretariat, Manager Park Sung-min of the International Cooperation Team attended as a panelist for the seventh session, and introduced NEAR and the  Subcommittee of Environment and its role in response to marine waste issues.
