NEAR Secretary-General Jun Jae-won participated in the exchange between Weinan and Sister Cities on May 14, emphasizing the expansion of exchange among regional governments. Secretary-General Jun delivered a congratulatory speech to approximately 300 attendees from sister cities of Weinan including Gumi, South Korea and Bad Liebenstein, Germany, stating that “As the exchange and cooperation among the regional governments brings more direct and practical outcomes, today’s dialogue is considered meaningful to the international community.. NEAR will actively promote future exchanges among regional governments” said the Secretary-General Jun. Prior to the dialogue, the Secretary-General Jun had a private meeting with Mayor Li Mingyuan of Weinan City. Mayor Li Mingyuan expressed his gratitude towards Secretary-General Jun for the support in promoting the exchange with Korea as the former Consul-General of the Korean Consulate General in Xian Province, China. Through the MOU signed with Gumi City in 2014, various exchange programs between the two cities are up and running.
