The Buncheon Santa Village in Bonghwa is being run by Gyeongsangbuk-do Province for 58 days from December 22, 2018 to February 17, 2019. At Santa Village, tourists can send letters of love and hope from the Santa Post Office. Santa's Village Food Court in the shape of Santa’s house is open to visitors, and ice sledding facilities are up and running for children. In addition, various events will run for local residents such as the Santa of the Year selection, the Santa Storyteller who tells various stories about Santa village, the presence of the Santa Sheriff, who is responsible for the safety of the town, and the Santa Post Officer. The Buncheon Santa Village opened in 2014 at the Buncheon railway station with the later addition of Santa Story. The attraction is open every year during the summer and winter months. This year marks the attraction’s ninth year, and it has been visited by more than 630,000 visitors to date. As the recipient of the 2016 Korean Tourism Award and with its selection as one of the locations of the Pyeongchang 2018 Olympic Winter Games Torch Relay, Santa Village is quickly becoming one of the must-see attractions of Korea.
