Natural View

Tojinbo Cliffs

Tojimbo features magnificent pillar-shaped rocks created by sea erosion. Extending for about 1 km, it commands an impressive view, standing gallantly against the raging waves of the Sea of Japan. This is the only place in Japan where one can see such a gigantic columnar joint of pyroxene andesite. Owing to this geologically rare phenomenon, Tojimbo is designated as a natural monument of scenic beauty.
