Introduction

• Ocean is a valuable resource which sustains life on Earth. The Sub-Committee on Ocean and Fishery aims to provide a platform for enabling a sustainable ocean economy and promoting relevant projects in Northeast Asia.

Objective

• Enhance cooperation and exchange with regard to ocean and fisheries issues in the Northeast Asian Region.

Major Activities

• Establish an environment-friendly development model in ocean and fisheries of Northeast Asia.
• Facilitate academic exchange and cooperation in ocean and fisheries science.
• Establish a mechanism of mutual trust and cooperation among members to promote fair trade of marine products.
• Secure the safety of human life and provide humanitarian relief in cases of marine disasters.
• Build an effective working partnership with member regional governments.
